About this stay
Built in the local kath-kuni style of stone and deodar wood, the cottage sits in an apple orchard a ten-minute walk above Old Manali.
Both bedrooms have heaters and thick quilts; the living room has a wood-burning fireplace and big windows facing the peaks. Tenzin's family lives next door and cooks Himachali meals — siddu, rajma and trout — on request.
The last 150 metres is a footpath, so pack light or ask us for a porter. Solang, Atal Tunnel and Jogini Falls are all easy day trips.
