Day 1
Arrive in Srinagar, evening shikara ride
Our driver meets you at Srinagar airport and takes you to your houseboat on Dal Lake. Settle in with kahwa, then take a one-hour shikara ride at sunset past the floating market and lotus gardens.

Day 2
Srinagar: Mughal Gardens and the old city
Visit Nishat Bagh, Shalimar Bagh and Chashme Shahi, then the Shankaracharya temple viewpoint. Evening free on the Boulevard. Move to your hotel.

Day 3
Srinagar to Gulmarg
Drive about 2 hours to Gulmarg, the 'meadow of flowers'. Ride the Gulmarg gondola to Kongdoori, or Apharwat in winter for snow. Overnight in Gulmarg.

Day 4
Gulmarg to Pahalgam
Drive about 4 hours to Pahalgam, stopping at the saffron fields of Pampore and the Awantipora ruins. Evening walk along the Lidder river.

Day 5
Pahalgam valleys
Take local union cabs to Betaab Valley, Aru Valley and Chandanwari (cab hire paid locally). Optional pony ride to Baisaran, 'mini Switzerland'.

Day 6
Day trip to Sonamarg, depart
Early drive to Sonamarg for the Thajiwas glacier views, then on to Srinagar airport for your evening flight. If your flight is early, we swap this day for shopping in Srinagar.

Private cars from outside cannot go to Betaab, Aru and Chandanwari; local union cabs are compulsory there.
Carry a printed photo ID; there are security checks on the way.
Postpaid mobile SIMs from other states work in Kashmir; prepaid SIMs from outside J&K do not.
